Volunteering

So you would like to help? That is great news as we are always looking for volunteers who are able to give us some of their time, energy, support and ideas.

There are many ways in which you can help Feline Friends in its never-ending task. Even if you can only spare a few hours we would still love to hear from you.

Below are a few of the different ways in which you can help. Once you have decided to volunteer, take the next step and drop Feline friends an email or contact the helpline and our volunteer coordinator will be in touch as soon as possible.

Fostering

Stalls

Feline Friends runs a variety of different stalls throughout the year, these include book sales, linen sales, bazaars, school fetes etc. These are fantastic money-spinners and are normally held at weekends. Their duration can be from a few hours to the whole day.

Obviously, we do not expect you to give up your whole day, so we try to get as many helpers as possible so that each person only does a couple of hours.

You will not be left alone to run a stall so do not worry, there will always be someone with you that has done this sort of thing before.

At present, we do not have a stalls co-ordinator so if you would like to help us out by taking on this task please let us know.

Garage Sales

Garage sales are always held at a weekend in either Mirdif or
Al Quoz, depending on the time of year. They can be very big affairs and need many volunteers to sort all the donated items out; this is usually done on the same day as the sale so this does mean an early start.

We also always need people to stay during the sale to take payments or just keep an eye on things.

Open Days

We hold Open Days at least once a month, normally on a Saturday. We have between thirty and thirty-five cats and kittens in one location all looking for permanent homes. They are generally held at one of our supporting veterinary clinics.

We need volunteers to fill out the questionnaires for people who are looking for a cat, selling the merchandise or just being there to make sure the cats have water and cuddles.

Monthly Meetings

We hold meetings at the Dubai Country Club the second Wednesday of each month. They start at 6:30pm and last as long as required.

We welcome new volunteers and their fresh ideas. These meetings are not only to discuss current Feline Friends business but also an opportunity to meet and socialise with like-minded people. They are normally followed by a meal in the Country Club restaurant.
